Pickle Chicken Curry Recipe

This is called the Pickle Chicken Curry. The main ingredient in this recipe is Tomato Pickle. You can use any pickle for that matter (taste differs as pickle is the base). This is a subtle dish with a tangy taste. Try it out and share your experience 🙂

Pickle Chicken Curry Recipe


  1. Boneless Chicken – 500 gm
  2. Tomato Pickle – 2 TBSP
  3. Cinnamon Powder – 1 tsp
  4. Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  5. Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
  6. Salt – as required
  7. Fresh Curry leaves – 1 cup
  8. Finely chopped Onion – 2 large

Preparation Steps:

  1. Cut the chicken into small pieces
  2. Marinate chicken with tomato pickle, red chilli powder, cinnamon powder, garam masala and salt
  3. Keep the marinated chicken aside for about 30 minutes (the more the better)
  4. Take a pan, pour oil and fry the curry leaves first for a minute in low flame
  5. Then fry the Onion until the raw smell fades off
  6. Now add the marinated chicken and sauté
  7. Close the pad using lid and let the chicken cook for about 10 minutes
  8. Open the lid and saute the chicken until semi dry (should be )
  9. Remove from pan and serve hot
