Andhra Style Chicken Fry Recipe

Here is another customized version of the Andhra Style Chicken Fry. Try it and share your experience 🙂

Andhra Style Chicken Fry Recipe


  1. Boneless Chicken – 1 kilo
  2. Ginger paste – 1 tsp
  3. Garlic paste – 1 tsp
  4. Tumeric Powder – 1 tsp
  5. Garam masala – 1 tsp
  6. Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
  7. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  8. Cloves – 6
  9. Cardamom – 3
  10. Cinnamon sticks – 4 medium sticks
  11. Green chillies – 4
  12. Lime / lemon juice – 3 tbsp
  13. Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  14. Salt – as required
  15. Freshly chopped coriander leaves – as required
  16. Curry leaves – as required

Preparation Steps:

  1. Cut the chicken into small pieces
  2. Marinate chicken with tumeric powder, ginger and garlic paste, red chilli powder and salt
  3. Keep the marinated chicken aside for about 30 minutes (the more the better)
  4. Take a pan, pour oil and fry the cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, cadamom and cloves
  5. Add the marinated chicken and sauté
  6. Now add the green chillies and sauté
  7. Close the pad using lid and let the chicken cook for about 5 minutes
  8. Open the lid and saute the chicken until dry (no water seen)
  9. Now add freshly chopped coriander leaves, curry leaves, garam masala,  coriander powder and saute
  10. Saute for another 3-5 minutes
  11. Remove from pan, add lime juice and mix
  12. Serve hot

    I’m adding some garlic salt instead of garlic cloves, hope it’s fine, as I don’t wanna use garlic here directly…

    1. No worries. That should be fine. Also you can use garlic powder instead of fresh / minced garlic. What your reckon?
